Two alternative methods of arranging for the con-

struction of the two dams and ancillary works are

briefly discussed.

The future headworks extensions of the Shing Mun

Scheme are dealt with broadly, and when completed

these will extend the life of the total available

resources until about 1955.

Other works such as duplication of trunk mains,

filters and addition to service reservoirs will be

required to keep pace with increasing draught from

the Shing Mun Reservoir.
